Karine Gassian is a law clerk at Sy and Smith. Karine received her Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School Law. During her time in law school, she had the opportunity to intern and gain experience with Federal Judge, Honorable Larry Alan Burns at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. In addition, she was involved in numerous student clubs and organizations, such as Armenian Law Student Organization (ALSA) and Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF).
Karine received her BA degree in Political Science and Minors in Women’s Studies and French from California State University, San Marcos. She graduated with Cum Laude honors along with Pi Sigma Alpha Honors Society and Golden Key International Honors Society. While obtaining her BA degree, she was also involved in a very competitive team educational simulation, Model United Nations, where she addressed current global issues at various conferences.
After obtaining her undergrad degree, Karine spent several years working for General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Department of Defense Company. Her first law firm experience started at Lewis Brisbois as a receptionist and assistant. She knew from an early age that she wanted to help people and enjoys learning about the legal system.
Karine is fluent in French and conversant in Armenian. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends. She loves to cook and bake with her kids and traveling the world.
